“The area of Zsolnay Factory in Pécs has been constantly growing in the last 150 years. It used to be a special closed town inside the town with heterogeneous structure, and in the last decades it has been decaying dramatically. European Capital of Culture dreams, excellent design competition, professional modesty of architects, delicate balance between new construction and cherishing values. These were the results of the several year cooperation of 14 designer teams and the well-qualified constructors. Also these factors made total renewal possible. The majority of work remains invisible for the audience because the final outcome comes so natural to them. And when I say: anonymous architecture, I definitely praise it. Time is on their side.”
